Cara vc comprou uma briga feia... Vc vai ver o pau que vai dar daqui a pouco... Mas não vou te deixar sem resposta vai... Ainda mais porque gosto das duas bandas...
Olha, acho que ambas são dignas de muuuuuuito respeito por terem músicos de qualidade induscutível... Ambas tb tem guitarristas fabulosos... O John Petrucci porque é o John Petrucci heheheheh... E o Michael Romeo por ter uma velocidade incrível com clareza impressionante (apesar de que seus solos não são os que mais me agradam), compositor de riffs pesadíssimos a la Pantera e ainda compõe sozinho todas as orquestrações...
Eu ainda prefiro o Dream Theater... Veja o vídeo do show Scenes From New York e vc vai saber pq... Fica bem claro o conhecimento musical dos caras não só no aspecto técnico... Mas tb em sua versatilidade...
Porém eu curto bastante o Symphony X tb... Mas aí já entra um lado mais clássico, melódico e tal... Atualmente acho o Russel Allen o melhor vocalista que está por aí... E acho que o Labrie só fica atrás dele por não ter nascido com um timbre de voz privilegiado, mas o que me fascina nele é ele ter consciência disso e compensar com a interpretação...
Enfim, duas bandas ótimas na minha opinião... Para quem gosta de um metal original e bem tocado, vale a pena...
PS: Preciso falar que esta é a MINHA opinião????

Ah! Eu acho as duas bandas fantásticas, em tudo. É indiscutível a qualidade técnia dos músicos de ambas. Como disse nosso caro amigo Edu Ardanuy (apelido ou é ele mesmo?)aí em cima, não vou te deixar sem resposta. Eu vejo a coisa de melhor puramente como gosto pessoal, o som que você ouve e se identifica mais ou menos, uma guitarra tocada assim ou assado, solos desse ou daquele jeito, assim como as outras "partes" da banda. Assim, no MEU gosto pessoal, Symphony X é bem melhor, gosto mais das músicas, do estilo, das influências e acho o Michael Romeo um músico completamente excepcional (não pela guitarra apenas, e sim pelas composições e orquestrações. Quem aí já ouviu o cd solo dele, sabe do que estou falando.). Mas o Dream Theater, como disse lá no começo, também é uma banda fabulosa.

os solos do romeo saum foda, mas chega uma hora que
tu sabe o que o cara vai faze, é muito previsivel.
ja o petrucci varia totalmente todos os seus solos.
sempre coisas inesperadas.

Petrucci é foda, escuta os solos desse útlimo cd todos na velocidade da luz e escuta Spirits Carry On do SFAM ou qualquer um do Failing to Infinity. Cabo, o maluco é muito foda. Até os do LTE são fodassos. Realmente a Gorda (Michael Romeo) é previsivel de mais, assim como qualquer guitarrista de Metal Melódico, para mim Sym x é Metal Melódico menos gay e mais pesado. Alguns disco sim tem pitada de prog. Mais não todos. Mais curto bastante os 2.

bom,às vazes o Petrucci ñ sabe colocar o solo,como no solo do DVD com a Teraza Thomason,eh mal encaixado ele pois frases rápidas quando era melhor por frase mais sentimentais. o Russel eh bem melhor que Librie que distorce
quando a músi eh muito alta! pow,mas gosto muito da técnica do petrucci.tirando a voz o Dream Theater eh melhor,apesar

Cara as duas bandas são fodas mas são bem diferentes, o dream theater é mais progressivo e o symphony x é mais melodico, o Dream Theater pode ter um vocal mais fraco mas tem o portnoy arregaçando na batera, na minha opnião o dream theater é superior...

sei lá, acho q o Dream Theater ganhou muito dinheiro
e começa fazer álbuns num nível muito baixo do q eles
