Na verdade, o nome dele não era Johnny Allen.
Aliás, foi Johnny Allen, mas só por alguns meses.
Logo depois, quando ele ainda era bebê, seu pai voltou da segunda guerra mundial, e mudou o nome dele para James Marshall Hendrix, em homenagem ao falecido irmão de seu pai.
Para pensar: Jimi tinha o nome de seu amplificador favorito!! heuaheohea
